Project Engineer
What’s the role?
As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible to manage and deliver the portfolio of site capital projects assigned.
You will thrive on:
- Having a good understanding of the workflow of the capital project processes and the required deliverables for the various phases of the capital project life cycle.
- Driving the development and execution of assigned capital projects in accordance with HSSE requirement, technical specifications, quality requirement within the committed schedule and budget.
- Leading and working with the various assigned disciplines engineers and the construction teams to successfully deliver the portfolio of the site capital projects.
On a day-to-day basis, your role will be to:
- Deliver best in class Capital Projects execution in line with Global Manufacturing Standards, Flawless Project Delivery process and Shell Jurong Island’s construction standards.
- Provide leadership in the capital projects/Turnaround planning and execution to achieve projects/Turnaround premises.
- Champion and drive safety aspects of program on all assigned Capex projects (Asset Integrity (AI), Maintain Margin (MM) & Growth categories).
- Lead, manage, integrate, develop, execute & deliver all multi-disciplinary capital projects for the site.
- Provide leadership and develop project execution strategies/plans, contracting & procurement strategies and execute all aspects of capital projects from Engineering kick-off till Handover/Closeout.
- Coordinate constructability reviews and integrate operational / maintenance / human factor aspects in design for all assigned capital projects.
- Manage project construction through Site Construction Manager and Site Construction Team or external resources such as Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) contractors.
- Ensure all aspects of the capital projects field execution comply with relevant local HSSE legislative, ISO14001, OSHA18001 and Shell group requirements.
- Champion cost and productivity initiatives by incorporating best practices and learning from previous projects, Turnaround and externally from the industries.
- Track and monitor plan/actual project status to ensure timely development, execution, close out including as-built documentation submission.
- Drive timely report on progress status to customers and stakeholders.
- Liaise and work closely with various digitalization initiatives workstream leads to facilitate the utilization of digitalization tools and platforms to improve the efficient execution of capital projects in Shell Jurong Island.
What we need from you
We are hoping to find the following in your CV:
- A degree in Mechanical or related Engineering field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in project management and execution.
- Must have hands-on project or maintenance experience in petrochemical plants or refineries.
- Knowledge and application of planning tools like Primavera P6, MS-Project, Excel, Word, Access, and SAP are essential.
- Knowledge or interest in digitalization tools/programs; data science architecture and platforms, automation technologies.
