The Lubricant Supply Chain (LSC) organization, as an integral part of the broader Lubricants business, is crucial for achieving success in the marketplace.

For Shell Lubricants to keep pace with its exciting Accelerated Growth commitments amidst the energy transition, you play a critical role in shaping the overall health of the business, driving new products through the entire Product Lifecycle Management process. from initial business case to market implementation. Moreover, you sit in Supply Chain organization with the intersection of the Sales, Marketing, striking the right balance and trade-offs between external market/customer needs and internal Shell capabilities.  This provides unique exposure to lots of different stakeholders and their respective business challenges.

What’s the role?

As the Portfolio Manager, you manage the overall end-to-end portfolio health of Automotive/ Industrial portfolio/OLP for NA / LTAM Lubricants Marketing business.

Further accountabilities are as follows:

  • Identifies and executes key product portfolio changes/projects.
  • Leads and manages the development of Business Case Introductions (BCIs) for all new product launches, driving stakeholders to action underperforming BCIs and escalate as needed.
  • Tracks PLM metrics/KPIs at a monthly basis to identify success and clear actions for improvement including C3 sales data (vs. BCI C3) for launched SKUs under one year and actual performance at 12-18 months.
  • Ensures consistent, clear, timely, and proactive communications to stakeholders regarding portfolio strategy, project status, direction and implications (i.e. mitigate unnecessary surprises).
  • Generates incremental value through introducing new products and eliminating under-performing SKUs.
  • Collaborates E2E to identify opportunities on the front-end of the PLM funnel, and on the operational back-end of the PLM funnel.
  • Serves as LSC single point of contact for commercial teams for any project ideation.
  • Conducts product Post Investment Reviews (PIRs), as needed, where learnings can be gleaned from highly successful or significantly failed product launches.
  • Collaborates closely with Marketing, Sales, Product Management, and LSC to handle project prioritization/trade-off concerns.

What we need from you

  • MBA Degree with engineering degree will be preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in Supply Chain and / or Marketing
  • Experience of GSAP or any similar ERP is must.
  • Product life cycle experience will be preferred.
  • Excellent project management skills and usage of tools---comfortable juggling multiple initiatives at various stages of development.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including managing internal and external expectations---very comfortable telling people “no”, or encouraging Marketing and Sales to push on deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills---gets Sr. Leaders quickly to the difficult issues.
  • Highly self-motivated individual, Looks end-to-end for creative solutions.
  • Seeks divergent perspectives from Portfolio team and cross-functional partners.   
  • Mastery in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, any other relevant tool.
  • Willingness to work onsite during US hours (Houston)with some flexibility. The role will be based out of India/Manila to support the lubricants business in the North America.
