Shell is looking for a Products and Programs Manager to drive the ongoing development of our Shell Recharge product portfolio across the United States and Canada. Shell operates hundreds of public-facing chargers in the US and Canada – these chargers are physical products with a constantly evolving digital back end. As the North America network grows, managing this portfolio of charging solutions is a critical part of ensuring the network is an enjoyable, highly reliable, and premium customer experience.

Shell has global eMobility functions that drives development of certain key products in the global charging ecosystem. For each market, their specific charging ecosystem is unique and complex to manage, yet capable of delivering highly efficient and refreshingly modern user experiences. The Director of Products and Programs will work with both internal and external product and engineering teams to drive the North America-specific roadmap that serves our customers and supports our business operations.

Your scope includes the entire charging ecosystem and the non-enterprise tooling that supports business operations. You will be the technical voice of the North America business, overseeing workstreams related to:

  • Charging hardware and firmware development – delivered by OEM partners – that drives business results and customer experience

  • The local implementation of Shell’s global products - including charge point management system (CPMS), connectivity solutions, and mobile app - in partnership with Shell IT product and engineering teams

  • Ensuring localized quality assurance milestones are achieved prior to product/feature releases to the market

You will be directly responsible for ensuring:

  • Your team of technical program managers and operations specialists are operating efficiently and delivering on their objectives

  • The North America product solution set is clearly defined, updated, and profitable. For product needs outside of your direct ownership, you will drive the North America business’ product roadmap needs with other internal and external product teams

  • Business operations tools such as local force.com instances, product roadmap management, pipeline management, data infrastructure, asset management, and financial execution are efficiently optimized and maintained for the North America business

  • Analytics supporting Service, Customer Experience, and Network Development operations workstreams are accurate, insightful, and efficiently delivered to the relevant North America business teams

What you bring

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer

  • Bachelor’s Degree is a plus

  • At least 15+ years’ experience developing product roadmaps or operations tools, preferably for product portfolios that include both hardware and software solutions

  • At least 4+ years’ experience with charging standards and products, including electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) open charge point protocol (OCPP), charge point management systems (CPMS), and mobile service provider (MSP) products

  • Capable of overseeing analytical professionals that deliver data-driven insights to inform both product decisions and operational workstreams

  • Demonstrated success owning product roadmaps within larger product ecosystems 

  • Expert knowledge of both product and technical program lifecycle management 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with service operations products like ticketing systems and network operations center (NOC) systems

  • Experience partnering with real estate project development teams such as site selection, engineering design, construction, and commissioning workstreams

What we offer

The base salary range for this position is $174,000.00 - $262,000.00 per year. Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.     

For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.

Additionally, employees are eligible for short-term disability leave for up to 26 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay as well as Long-Term Disability insurance. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives. For interns, eligible benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs; participation in a 401(k) plan; and paid leave for up to 11 paid holidays.
